The requirement of dry provisions for the month of October 2024 was donated to the Meth Suwa Needy Child Foundation situated at Handapanagala, Wallawaya on 04th October 2024 to commemorate the 51st Anniversary of NLPL. The director and the staff of the foundation highly appreciated the initiative taken by the NLPL management as a response to the request they have made to fulfill the basic requirements of needy children accommodated at MethSuwa Center.

A special program for children of NLPL employees commenced on the Saturday 26th October 2024 in order to commemorate the 51st Anniversary of the company and the world’s children day. Children are participating in this program group wise during 04 consecutive Saturdays. The fun events at “Play World” Matale, has been arranged with the total sponsorship of the company. They are provided with snacks and meals on company account during the day and are accompanied by the HRD staff.

Another successful step in the ongoing Forest Restoration on Degraded Lands in Knuckles Conservation Forest’ (KCF) sponsored by Noritake Lanka Porcelain (Pvt) Limited was held on 14th September 2024.  The program is conducted under the patronage of University of Peradeniya. Around 150 participants representing Noritake Lanka Porcelain ( Pvt) Limited, University of Peradeniya, Forest Department and the local community and a group of students from the American Corner, Kandy engaged in this activity. Around eight hundred seedlings were planted during the program in order to refill an existing Forest Restoration Site maintained under this program, at Knuckles Conservation Forest.

A blood donation campaign was organized at Noritake factory premises recently to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the company. It was organized in liaison with the Ministry of Health and many   employees participated positively to donate blood during the event.

The company is heading toward the Carbon Neutral and Carbon Net Zero status in the future along with the Green Productivity and the Sustainability. The Restoration of Forest program launched by the company at Knuckles Consecration Forest’ (KCF) in liaison with the University of Peradeniya, Forest Department and the Local Community take a prominent place in this journey. Preparation of existing sites by the local community under the guidance of the company for the scheduled Restoration of Forest activity in September 2024 is in progress at present.   

A group of ladies from Tea Club in Japan visited NLPL recently. They have selected Sri Lanka as a original tea manufacturing country and were on a visit to hill country to see the tea manufacturing process, the culture and the way of consuming tea by people and also for tasting different flavors of tea. During the factory visit, they observed as to how the tea is prepared and served to employees at NLPL.         

The Chairman of Noritake Lanka Porcelain (Pvt) Ltd. Mr. Makota Okabe along with the Group General Manager of Table Top Group, Mr. Tomoyuki Katada from the Noritake Head Office, Japan visited the factory on 13th July 2024. The Chairman addressed the management team and subsequently carried out the annual inspection visit in the production process.  

On 27th July 2024, a Tree Planting Campaign was carried out at the NLPL Hand Painting Section situated at Pannala. A large number of officers and employees from Matale factory along with the staff of the hand painting section participated in this activity. During the year 2021 Noritake Lanka Porcelain (Pvt) Limited has obtained the GHG Certification for the quantification and reporting of green house gas emissions and removals whist becoming the first organization  in the inorganic and non metallic sector  to achieve this success.  The company is heading toward the Carbon Neutral and Carbon Net Zero status in the future along with the Green Productivity and the Sustainability. The Tree Planting Activities take a prominent place in this journey and the company has launched this activity at Knuckles Mountain Range in as well, liaison with University of Peradeniya since 2016.        

Noritake Lanka Porcelain (Pvt) Limited won the 4th place in the National Vesak Lantern Competition of Matale district organized by the Government authorities. This beautiful piece of artwork has been done by the company in an environmental and sustainable manner utilizing some waste materials of the production process.      

The Day Care Center and Pre School named “First Step” was ceremonially opened for the kids of NLPL employees at the vicinity of the factory, recently. The Deputy Chairman / Managing Director of Noritake Lanka Porcelain (Pvt) Limited graced the occasion as the Chief Gust. The fully renovated building has been provided for this purpose and the maintenance of the entire center is carried out by the company as a welfare measure.
