Noritake Lanka Porcelain (Pvt) Ltd clinched a Merit Award for its environmentalmanagement activitiesduring the presidentialEnvironmental Award Ceremony - 2024 held at BMICH on 28th June 2024.The competition and the award ceremony were organized by the Central Environment Authority.  

Noritake Lanka Porcelain (Pvt) Ltd clinched a Gold Award for its green productivity and sustainability activities. The competition was organized by the Sri Lanka Association for Advancement of Quality and Productivity (SLAAQP) and the award ceremony was held at the Water’s Edge on 19th June 2024. The award was presented by the Chief Guest, the Secretary of Ministry of Environment.       

The Director/ GM of the company, Mrs. Sujatha Egodegedara was the Chief Gust during the inauguration ceremony. Establishing of this show room in Jaffna is a key miles stone in the Noritake history in the process of business expansion in the Sri Lankan market. This is the first ever “exclusive dealership” with “Star Group” and Noritake. Now, people living in Jaffna peninsula don’t have to reach Colombo to buy quality porcelain wear for their dining tables. Noritake has gone to their doorstep to serve them.

Fifteen officials from International Manpower Development Organization, Japan visited NLPL on 16th November 2023. They were received by the Deputy Chairman/ Managing Director of NLPL Mr. Kenji Obara and they were facilitated with a presentation with regard to the factory operation. Subsequently they visited the factory in order to see the Table Wear production process.      

04 SGA (Small Group Activity) teams represented NLPL (Decoration, Sagger, Accounts and Electrical Departments) achieved Gold Awards in the National Convention on Quality and Productivity – 2023 competition held at Naganada International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS), Kelaniya on 21st November 2023. Small Group Activities conducted at NLPL encourages the scientific problem solving by employees in their work settings in order to improve the productivity.    

Noritake Lanka Porcelain ( Pvt) Limited conducted a Buddhist Religiious activity to commomorate the 50th Anniversary. An overnight Pirith Chanting Ceromany was conducted on 06th October followed by dhana in the 07th mornning. The event was organized by the Buddhist Association of the company under the guidance of the Management.

Noritake Lanka Porcelain (Pvt) Limited conducted the Employee Felicitation Ceromany as the main event  to commomorate the 50th Anniversary of the company on 05th October 2023 at Mahathma Ghandhi Hall, Matale under the patronage of Chaiman, Mr. M. Okabe. Employees who have completed more than 25 years of service were felicitated in the ceromany.  A varity show perfored by the employees added colour to the event.

A blood donation campaign was organized at Noritake factory premises on to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the company. It was organized in liaison with the Ministry of Health and many   employees participated positively to donate blood during the event.  

Awarding Ceremony of “12th Challenge Small Group Activity (SGA)” was held on 30th June 2023 at the factory premises under the patronage of Deputy Chairman/ Managing Director and Board of Directors. One award for the service departments, five awards for the production departments and 02 awards for the production support departments were presented during the ceremony.  SGA is a very effective team activity conducted at NLPL to train and develop the staff and team members in the scientific problem solving process. NLPL SGA activities won 03 Gold Awards and 01 Bronze Award during the National Convention on Quality and Productivity Ceremony – 2022
