His Excellency Badli Hisham Adam, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Sri Lanka visited Noritake Lanka Porcelain (Pvt) Limited  on 04th July 2023 with his family. The team participated in a factory visit to see the table wear production process. Thereafter, the high commissioner had a discussion with Board of Directors in a subject of mutual interest. 

In the morning of 02nd June 2023, a special religious activity was held at Noritake factory premises with the participation of the Director/General Manager, other officers and all employees. Employees attached to the decoration department in the factory have organized this event named “ Suwanda Pooja”  to commemorate the Poson Poya Day.

An engineer Mr. Padmanadan who resides in USA visited the factory during his short visit to Sri Lanka with his family. As per his briefing he was one of the Engineers in the construction team who built the factory in 1972. He was very happy to see the present status of the factory and extended his wishes for the continuous growth and prosperity of Noritake.

The Nurse’s / Sister’s Welfare Socity “Heda Pawra” of Matale Hospital was donated with a consignment of porcelain items recently. It was done during a brief ceremony arranged by the society at the Matale District Hospital premises. This occasion is an evident for the long lasting cordial relationship the NLPL has with Matale Hospital staff.

On the Vesak Day 05th May 2023, Noritake Buddhist Association in liaison with the HRD Department organized a “Vesak Dansela” near the factory premises. Thousands of villagers who reside around the factory were offered with a cooked meal of noodles and they highly appreciated the company’s initiative to commemorate this religious event with the public. 

On 27th May 2023, 28 final year undergraduates in the Management Faculty of University of Peradeniya visited Noritake along with the staff. They visited the factory to see the industrial environment with regard to the practical aspect of Contemporary HRM subjects they have learned and subsequently witnessed a presentation on HRM process of the company. They also participated in an interactive session with the Director/General Manager and the Asst. General Manager. Professor Richard Wickramarathne who headed the University team had a discussion with them about the potential internship and learning opportunities at Noritake for the undergraduates attached to the Faculty of Management.    

 On 11th October 2021, Noritake donated a set of medical equipment worth of Rs. 1.8 million to the newly established 150 bed covid unit at National Hospital, Kandy. The donation consists of Oxygen Concentrators and a High Flow Machine with accessories. Director/ General Manager of Noritake Lanka Porcelain (Pvt) Limited Mrs. Sujatha Egodegedara on behalf of the NORITAKE CO., LIMITED Japan formally handed over the consignment to the Director of National Hospital Kandy, Dr. S.A.A.N Jayasekara, in a brief ceremony held at the hospital. Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka coordinated the donation and the related event.

On 15th February 2020, 2018/2019 Diploma batch of National Productivity Secretariat visited NLPL. They got a practical exposure about the factory operations and how the productivity is achieved in the factory. NLPL clinched the National Productivity Award in 2016.

 On 14th February 2020, Japanese Ambassador His Excellency Mr. Akira Sugiyama visited NLPL and he was warmly welcome by the Deputy Chairman / Managing Director and by the Board of Directors. After attending for a short briefing about NLPL operations, he visited the factory in order to see the porcelain production process.

On 10th January 2020 scholarships were awarded for 14 students who have performed well in the G.C.E O/L examination. Their parents who are in the staff of NLPL received relevant documents from the Director/General Manager at a brief ceremony held at the factory premises. It is an ongoing process and NLPL awards scholarships for students who perform well in G.C.E O/L and A/L examinations as a helping hand for their future studies.
